Community Zoom Room
A teen-only conversation centered on one topic. We allow 45–60 minutes so there is ample time to explore the topic, ask questions, and build shared language without being talked at.
Future Leaders of the World · Fall 2026
FLOW is a guided social-emotional learning experience where teens explore a skill, families practice it together, and real life becomes the place learning takes root.
A place to practice becoming.
What FLOW makes possible
Teenagers often know what adults want them to do. The harder part is accessing those skills when emotions are high, relationships feel complicated, or the next right step is not obvious.
At Heartland Estate, we create experiences that make invisible patterns visible. The horses respond to presence, clarity, pressure, boundaries, and congruence in real time. Rhonda then guides teens and families to reflect—not “What did the horse do?” but “What did you notice in yourself, and where else does that show up?”
That is the bridge from an interesting activity to a skill a young person can actually use.
One rhythm · three rounds
FLOW Together follows a four-week rhythm. Each round includes one 45–60 minute Teen Community Zoom, one 90-minute family experience at Heartland Estate, one 45–60 minute Zoom debrief the following week, and one week with no scheduled session for integration. We repeat this rhythm three times throughout the fall.

Experience
The first 30 minutes belong to the teens. Parents then join for a 60-minute experiential session at Heartland Estate—where ideas become something families can see, feel, and practice together.
Reflect
The following week, we meet on Zoom for 45–60 minutes to slow the experience down, name what happened, connect it to real life, and identify what each person wants to carry forward at home.
Integrate
Growth needs breathing room. This week is protected space to notice, practice, and allow the learning to settle before the next round begins.
Fall 2026 schedule
Zoom conversations last 45–60 minutes. Family experiences at Heartland Estate run from 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Thanksgiving adjustment: There is no session on November 25. The third family experience moves to December 2, followed by the Zoom debrief on December 9 and integration week on December 16.
“The goal isn’t a teen who behaves perfectly in a controlled moment. It’s a young person who can notice, choose, communicate, and recover in real life.”
— Rhonda CimorelliThe Heartland difference
FLOW blends guided conversation, equine-assisted experiential learning, coaching, and family participation. Teens have space of their own—and parents are brought into the process at the moment shared experience can create a new kind of conversation.
Skills beneath the surface
Notice emotions, patterns, strengths, and choices.
Build the pause between a trigger and a response.
Read impact, perspective, and nonverbal communication.
Practice trust, boundaries, repair, and collaboration.
Move from impulse toward intention and ownership.
Create shared language that can travel home.
Promising evidence, honestly presented
FLOW is its own program; these studies do not evaluate or guarantee FLOW outcomes. They do show why experiential, relationship-centered social-emotional learning deserves serious attention.
Thirty-one middle-school students from six schools participated in an eight-week program. After participation, parents and teachers reported improved social-emotional competencies; improvements were not reported after the waitlist condition.
The researchers appropriately describe the results as preliminary and promising because the sample was small.
Read the peer-reviewed study ↗A review of 12 meta-analyses encompassing an estimated one million students found consistent positive impacts across a broad range of outcomes. CASEL also emphasizes that context and implementation matter.

Rhonda brings more than a decade of coaching experience and 39 years of active parenting into every room, Zoom, and pasture. Her work helps people recognize the gap between what they know and what they can access under pressure—then practice a more useful way forward.
At Heartland Estate, the process is active, compassionate, and grounded in real life. Rhonda does not hand families a script and call it transformation. She creates the conditions for insight, guides honest reflection, and helps each person translate the lesson into language and actions they can own.
